They are generally called FPC connectors, which is an acronym for flex to PCB connectors.
Such connectors are generally not rated for outside environments. So such re-purposing is OK for indoor uses, but unlikely to be reliable in outdoor applications.
Remark: The flexible part that inserts in the connector is not usually an available part in supermarkets. It’s a flexible PCB with low quality and cost.
- So you’ll need to keep that piece of the interconnect.
- Or, you could have them manufactured, but making them in low volumes and cost-effectiveness.
