Should I place the sensor right between the shell and one of the moving gears to avoid being buried within the PCB?

It is an aftermarket trigger controller for an airsoft gun that works linear Hall sensors. Notice the Hall sensor at the very left. It's buried within the PCB! And it even looks like it has some exposed vias to aid with soldering. We plan to place the sensor right between the shell and one of the moving gears. Is this common practice?

Common enough. The process is called “Z-axis milling“. Used for LEDs sometimes too.

You can even bury low-profile parts such as bypass capacitors and resistors in cavities entirely within multilayer PCBs.

It requires extra steps so expect extra costs or MOQ or both. For small quantities the costs may be prohibitive, even from China.

Does each process have its own PCB or there is just one?

To my understanding, each process in the operating system contains its own separate Process Control Block. Can someone explain this to me. Does each process have its own PCB or is there just one PCB that contains all the information for all the processes?
