Zijn via's betrouwbaar in flexibele circuits?

Zoals we allemaal weten, flex PBC is flexible. I am curious about the reliability of vias in it. Is it easy to break?

As a former circuit board (and flex circuit) designer, I would expect vias in flex circuits to be about as reliable as in more traditional (stijf) laminates. Factors that would influence reliability include:

  1. The amount of vibration and mechanical stress applied to the flex over its lifetime
  2. The thickness of the wall plating in the plated through holes (aka vias)
  3. The quality of manufacture (a flex circuit built by a fab that has experience with the technology will more likely build a reliable part)
  4. The layout of the via pads themselves

In the case of item #4, I would advocate for a “teardrop” shaped pad, to smooth the transition from the trace to the via pad.

This will tend to reduce fracturing where the trace enters the via pad on the flex circuit.

Wat anderen vragen

Why does my RF PCB have small holes in the ground polygon?

I ordered RF PCB design and prototype from my supplier . There are something like a hole, but it is not, on the ground surface. What is the purpose of making these holes? The PCB is inside of the E70 433NW14S LoRa module.

What kinds of test is suitable for low volume PCB order?

I’ve ordered fabrication and assembly of small PCB batches (100st) a couple of times already. Each time the factory asked me if I want to do test on the PCB. But I don’t what to do about it. And I test them by myself. Vervolgens, the result of the testing is unacceptable with 15% soldering problems. So bad. I think I will ask the supplier to test them before delivery.
