Is via-in-pad bad for manufacturing?（thru-hole hollow-centre via）

I see some videos online that shows via-in-pad during manufacturing. But I don't think it is a good way, is it?

Not recommended, because some solder will wick down to the other side and the component on top will not solder correctly.

Remedial measure:

Use capped
Filled vias when doing via-in-pad to stop the solder draining away.

Remark: Before designing via-in-pad, don’t forget to talk to your PCB fabricator to find out what their capabilities are, and how much extra this costs.

Is there a reason an 0805 resistor would have a different land pattern than an 0805 capacitor?

My PCB design software comes with some libraries that include some common components, like chip resistors and capacitors. I have noticed, however, that the footprint land pattern for the 0805 resistor is not identical to the 0805 capacitor. Is there a “best standard”? IPC-7351, IPC-SM-782, or what?
