Not recommended, because some solder will wick down to the other side and the component on top will not solder correctly.

Remark: Before designing via-in-pad, don’t forget to talk to your PCB fabricator to find out what their capabilities are, and how much extra this costs.

Is it possible to replace an automotive wiring harness with PCB? For example, just have the cables attached on either end of the circuit to eliminate a bunch of messy cableage in between.
Is there an industry standard for showing how plates in the SMT cap are oriented? How can you tell if it is a square-rectanguloid instead of being flattish in one dimension?
(On every board we submit a design for assembly, some designers may make PCB fab confused about the orientation of diodes or LEDs. And we had both Eagle’s default diodes and KiCad’s default diodes sent back from Chinese fab.)
